The fire-resistance tests of the brick curtain walls involving the BAUT system were conducted in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The tests aimed to determine the fire resistance class of the BAUT system.
A fragment of a three-layer wall was constructed in a laboratory setting as a representative model of a multi-storey building under construction at that time in Saint Petersburg.
The fragment under examination was made using the elements of the BAUT system: brackets (with an anchoring depth of 300 mm), reinforcement, connectors and hooks. The wall through the first-storey window was exposed to open fire for 45 minutes. No changes in the BAUT system were detected. After the test, the wall was dismantled and the condition of all components was evaluated. None of the components sustained any damage.
The test results demonstrated that the BAUT system meets the strictest fire-resistance requirements (fire resistance class K0 according to the applicable standard).
